Training Program

Ask David or Sam who they consider to be the most important people at the Studio and without blinking an eye, they will say "us...uh...we mean our Trainees." That's because the Trainees are the backbone of our organization and embody everything we believe in.

We are proud to offer the most exclusive public relations and marketing Training Program in the Southwest. That means if you are hard working, smart, talented, creative and very cool to hang with, we may include you. You might be looking for just an "internship" but you better be ready for a whole lot more than that.

Trainees must demonstrate the ability to follow directions, have a great attitude, deliver on deadlines, work on a team and get details right. We call these kinds of things "Honey Bears," and you'll need to come in for an interview to understand what that's all about.

Our trainees gain hands-on experience in media relations, community relations, branding, internal communications, marketing and field tactics. They sit in on client meetings, meet journalists, participate in creative sessions and contribute to account strategy. Real bullet points for your resume.

The program is not rigidly structured.  We work to accommodate your schedule whenever possible.  We understand you have classes, a job and in some cases, a family.  There isn't a pre-determined amount of hours per week, or a required length of time.

Who are the Trainees? Well, we have had an 18-year-old college graduate.  And we have had a 38-year-old corporate PR executive who needed agency experience.  We've had freshman and seniors, juniors, and new grads, and a few people in their mid-20‘s looking for a new career.

If you excel as a Trainee, you are eligible to be promoted to Senior Trainee. The Senior Trainees recruit for the Program and manage its day-to-day operations. How many "internships" out there give you an opportunity to get promoted and manage people?  Exactly.

Our culture is supportive, collaborative, creative and as trite as it sounds, much like a family (the functional kind). To date, we have had more than 50 Trainees and promoted seven to full-time Associates. Currently, we have four full-timers who all went through the program. If you want a job in our Studio you have to go through our Training Program. We need to be sure you belong on our Crew and so should you.

And if you do well but find a job opportunity before we can offer you a position, let us know and we will help you however we can. Our Training Program is demanding and the best way we can repay you is to help launch your career -- either with us, or in another jungle.  We make calls, write letters, write resumes, and pretty much anything else we can do to help you get established. Our trainee alumni are working in Phoenix, Las Vegas and San Diego right now. Some of them are even doing PR.
